La Casona Restaurant - Puno

Only a party of two but we have had problems elsewhere in Peru, so we made a reservation. Good thing we had one or we would not have gotten in. The altitude was really affecting me so I wasn't very hungry. I decided to try a Peruvian main dish even though all I really wanted was the chicken soup. I had the lomo saltado which is cubed beef with onions and peppers in a brown sauce. All I can really say about the sauce was it was somewhat salty. The meat was hot and well cooked but the onions and peppers were warm to cool. The dish came with rice and fries. It went well with rice and my husband ate the fries. He ordered the fusilli with ratatouille, without any cheese since he is vegan and was happy with his food. The wait to order was a little long, however the wait to get our food was longer and the wait to get our check even longer. But the prices were good.

La Casona certianly constitutes an option of international quality at the center of Puno. We dined twice, five persons, and all our choices were awesone. Portions are reasonable, but quality is outstanding. Peruvian flavors are favored. If posible, try something with quinua.

Went there for dinner and was not disappointed. The food was very good without being brilliant and the portion sizes were large, my salad starter was certainly big enough for two. The prices of the food and the drinks were very reasonable, and the girl who served me had a smile on her face every time she came to my table. It is obviously a very popular restaurant, it was packed when I left about 7.30 pm.

Nous avons diné à La Casona, nous nous sommes régalés avec les fusillis à la ratatouille et les lasagnes végétariennes. Les plats sont vraiment délicieux, copieux et le service y est très correct. Une bonne adresse à Puno, dans la Calle Puno réputée pour être assez touristique.

Abbiamo pranzato in questo ristorante di Puno, che é in centro a due pasi da Plaza der Armas. Ambiente confortevole, servizio impeccabile. Abbiamo preso 2 sopas de quinoa, un filetto di alpaca e un lomo, birre e tisane finali. Tutto eccellente e al modico prezzo di circa 14 euro a testa. Consigliato a chi vuole fare un ottimo pranzo o un'ottima cena a Puno.

Excellent!! Food was one of the best meals I've had on my travels. Staff was extremely nice and attentive. Food and check came quickly per our request.

We were recommended to visit this hotel by my daughter and also by the hotel receptionist and weren't we pleased they did!The service was excellent and the food was also really good . We both had soup to start and the quinoa soup which I had was delicious . The bread was fresh and the snacks given whilst we waited were a nice touch . For main my partner had the lasagne and I had the vegetarian lasagne both were excellent , pasta not over cooked and very fresh ingredients . We were surprised how inexpensive this meal was and would recommend this restaurant to any one staying in Puno .

Abbiamo ordinato due alpaca con salsa al vino rosso accompagnate da patate al forno e verdure.Questo piatto non mi ha fatta impazzire. Ho trovato l'alpaca un po' dura rispetto a quella che ho assaggiato in precedenza.A seguire un dolce da dividere. Quando il cameriere è tornato con due coppette ho creduto si fosse sbagliato ... e invece no.Non immagino come potesse essere la porzione intera.. Locale nella media.
